Manchester City Stadium Floods
Manchester City stadium flooded after the torrential downpours of the last week.
The stadium was built in 2002 for the Commonwealth Games and suffered at the hands of overnight heavy rain.
Fire Crews were called in and spent several hours pumping out water from the ground offices, store rooms and lift areas of the stadium.
It seems as though a drain system collapsed on Alan Turning Way, causing sewage to spill into the road. The road was then closed.
Fire Crews worked for hours from 8.30pm, to pump water from the lift shafts, where the water had collected at the lowest point. At the worst of the flood, 3 metres of water had to be pumped out.
