High rates of Vehicle Insurance Claims in South
recent figures reveal suprising facts about the incidence of claims on vehicle insurance in different areas in the UK
Recent data analysis from the price comparison website moneysupermarket.com has thrown up some statistics which will both confirm existing suppositions and surprise.
Moneysupermarket.com carried out an in depth analysis of millions of insurance claims over the past year and has made some interesting observations.
There can be little doubt that recent gadget obsession is also reflected 'in car'. There is a host of additional electric equpiment now as standard in cars, such as Satellite Navigation devices, ipods, mobile phones and blackberrys. These have all contributed to increasing thefts from motor vehicles.
Large urban areas have, as one may suspect, higher than average rates of insurance claims for theft from ( or of ) vehicles.with Manchester, Hackney and Liverpool accounting for a fifth of all insurance claims nationwide. It was somewhat more surprising that there was a high incidence of insurance claims from East Sussex, whith a high incidence of claims of theft of property from their vehicles.
a spokesman from money supermarket said : "Whether it's a mobile phone left on display, a Sat Nav, or pricey alloy wheels, having items stolen from a securely locked vehicle is an awful experience. The stress and anxiety involved in having your car stolen is also something vigilant motorists won't want to experience. My advice to motorists is to always be alert when it comes to the security of your vehicle; parking safely for example, in a garage if possible. Improving the security of your vehicle may also be an option - fitting an alarm and using a steering wheel lock are efficient means to safeguard your car. As a final tip it goes without saying not to leave valuables on display to tempt opportunistic thieves."
The conclusion we must reach is that it is imperative to minimise the risk to your vehicle, care should be taken not to tempt thieves and not to put your car in a position of risk. The statistics also should act as a reminder that one is never safe and that you should not assume a false sense of invulnerability just because you are in familiar or apparently safe surroundings. It also emphasises the need for good insurance protection.
