Heavy Rains Cause Flood Damage in Wales
The clean up continues after the weekend's flooding across Wales where ten people were rescued from homes and cars.
Fire Service crews attended over 100 incidents over the weekend, however there were no reports of any serious injuries requiring hospital treatment.
Crews in Carmarthenshire rescued two adults and an infant from a house and another individual was rescued from a house in Pembrokeshire.
Several people got stranded in their cars, including two in Swansea and four in Emlyn.
According to the Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service station manager Sandy Powell, those affected remained calm and collected, and waited patiently for the water rescue crews.
In Carmarthenshire neighbours found themselves united in a bid to clear up the extensive damage caused by the flooding.
The flooding furthermore affected Maesteg, Merthyr, Aberdare, Treorchy and Tonypandy. The A4061 Rhigos Road in Rhonda stays closed due to a landslip. With the weather now subsiding cleanup operations are very much underway, with many now realising that they need to be better prepared for flooding.
