Experts Warn of Weekend Flooding

More flooding is set to hit the UK. Where has the Summer gone?

After a glorious week, heavy rain is now expected to flood parts of the UK.

The Met Office has predicted as much as 50mm of rainfall to hit the UK this weekend, bringing with it flooding, and mainly to the north of the country.

Severe weather warnings have been issued to the entirety of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales for Sunday and Monday and the Environment Agency has urged people to be aware of the possibility of flooding.

Although the periods of rainfall are set to be less prolonged than they were last month, they are concerned that the downpours will cause flash flooding in some areas and are forecast to continue until Monday.

The majority of the weather should hit the North, intensifying during Sunday evening and during the night. Hopefully the places battered by torrential rain last month, will get a reprieve this week and have enough time to dry out, before then next onslaught.

Flood warnings are already being issued and people will be warned if the threat is bad enough that they will have to leave their homes.
