Loss Assessors Advice

What is the role of a Loss Assessor?

If you have been devastated by a fire or a flood or even a burglary then you will have at some point asked yourself what you were going to do to restore normality to your life, but have you considered what a loss assessor could do for you?

Your first port of call would have probably been your insurance company, who would have sent along their own representative, usually a loss adjustor, to decide how much you are entitled to in compensation. The problem here is that insurance companies act in their best interests and not the interests of the policy holder and what is going to be the best course of action to put your home or company back on track.

This is where AKA’s loss assessors come in. Our loss assessors work on behalf of you and understand what you want and work to get you the best possible settlement as quickly as possible.

Our loss assessors come to your home or business and then deal directly with your insurance company. Just as a loss adjustor works for your insurance company, having an expert work for you, like your loss assessor, can be the difference between getting what you are entitled to and what an insurance company deems to be fair.

If you are making a claim for your business, then the loss assessor will look after all aspects of your claim, including damage to the building (where a surveyor will visit), any stock, fixtures and fittings. They will then raise an estimate for these items, depending upon whether the damage is to the extent that these object need replacing or merely repairs. Once the work has been agreed, the job is put to tender.

Depending upon your insurance cover, the loss assessor will also help with temporary relocation should you not be able to work from the original premises. The loss assessor will also take into consideration any interruption to business.

The same applies to a domestic insurance claim, although because in these cases it is often a very emotional and traumatic time in people’s lives, our loss assessors are extremely compassionate in understanding what you are going through.

Loss assessors work to make sure that you get what is fair and therefore quite often work with the loss adjustor therefore helping to negotiate a decent settlement.

The loss assessor is paid by your insurance company and this fee is a small percentage of your final settlement, and for this they deal with every aspect of your claim. This can be as detailed as the leasing policies and the tiny ‘small’ print in your insurance cover. This type of expertise is invaluable and could save you months, heart ache and your bottom line - cash.

If we can in anyway help you with your insurance claim and getting the best possible settlement from your claim, then do not hesitate to contact our team of loss assessors here at AKA Assisted Claims.
